Hollywood Glam in the Desert

Sophia + Alex | February 22, 2020 | The Avalon Hotel & Bungalows Palm Springs

Can I just tell you guys how much I love Palm Springs! Every wedding we have had the pleasure of working out there has seriously been a dream, and of course, The Avalon Hotel & Bungalows is no exception. We can totally see why Sophia & Alex feel in love with it, as we did.

When I first spoke to Sophia on the phone during our initial consult call, I just knew we had to be her coordinators. She was so fun and sweet, and her design and ideas were right up our ally. She explained that she has a lot of family helping in the planning, which I mean…who doesn’t, and wanted to make sure she had a coordinator who could help reign all the ideas in and make it one cohesive event. And lucky for us, she believed we had what it took and hired us before the call was even over!

The overall colors and design they selected for their big day were black and white with pops of green to give that old Hollywood feel that fit Sophia and Alex to a tee. They chose family-style seating with white and blush florals with an abundant amount of candles going down the middle that just screamed romance. The design fit the space perfectly and made it light and cozy. And Sophia, oh my gosh, her look was on point with the theme, she is 50s glam - beautiful, sophisticated, and timeless.

I have to say my favorite moment of the wedding was the Live band, Ben Mallare Events & Entertainment! They were amazing and kept everyone dancing all night long. They even knew how much Alex loved Karaoke and let him come on stage and sing “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” to his beautiful new bride. Oh, and another favorite reception moment was the ice cream cart! Yep, you read that right…an ice cream cart. It was a huge hit.

Here are a few more highlights...

Some of my favorite Mr. & Mrs photos. And you CAN NOT get married at The Avalon and not take a photo in front of the iconic yellow and white wall.

The ceremony was set up in front of the hotel's black and white gazebo, which of course, complemented the theme.

And the reception was perfection! Sophia ordered the amazing neon last name sign off of Etsy, so they got to take it home! And the hedge wall escort sign display turned out amazing! Oh, and her Grandmother made that gorgeous cake, crazy right!?!

Thank you, Sophia & Alex, for entrusting Peachy Keen with one of the greatest days of your lives! We know amazing things are on the way for you two...enjoy every moment.

With love,

The Amazing Team...
