Flying into Love

Elyse & Mitch | March 14, 2020 | Palm Springs Air Museum

Remember how on the last blog post I told you how much we loved Palm Springs? Well guess what!?! This wedding took place in Palm Spring. I told you we loved it.

Elyse and Mitch got married on the cusp of this crazy quarantine, like literally five days before a statewide “stay at home order” was put into place. And I’m so happy they got to celebrate their day like there was no craziness…it was just them, their family and closest friends, and all the love you could ever imagine.

The beautiful couple chose The Palm Spring Air Museum as their “I Do” backdrop, and it was amazing. With the love of Mitch’s old warplanes (and planes in general) and Elyse’s love for Mitch it was the absolute perfect setting. And what made this space even more amazing they actually got to pick the planes that would make their ceremony location and also the planes that would be inside the hanger for the reception, which Elyse left up to Mitch and he did not disappoint. Another awesome event that was to take place, thanks COVID-19 for ruining it, was during the cocktail hour they were going to actually fly around Palm Springs in an Old-World War II fighter plane! How cool would that have been!?! I’m hoping they get to take a one-year anniversary ride; Elyse keep us posted if that happens.

When I first spoke to Elyse on the phone, I just feel in love with her, and we shared a mutual love for deep-sea fishing, which if you’ve never been please go and you can thank me later. I mean they go like a couple times a month (before this started happening) and I will forever be jealous. I think that first consult call was us talking about fishing, the amazing restaurants they find, and a little bit wedding…haha. It was like we were long lost friends; it was just so easy. And from there on out it just got easier.

Like you read in the last blog post (and if you haven’t read it, go do it), I have a million favorite moments, but I’ll just share a few. My overall favorite though was Elyse’s walk down the aisle song, The Jurassic Park Theme song, which was a totally surprise to Mitch and everyone attending. It was pretty amazing.

As always, keep scrolling to see more of my favorite moments…

Elyse and Mitch keep their bridal party simple, just the 2 of them which made all the pictures so romantic and intimate.

The ceremony, like I said had real fighter jets as a backdrop which looked so cool! But they also came up with the amazing idea of having paper airplanes place on every seat where all the guest could write their hopes and dreams for them, then throw them at them as they walk back down the aisle. It was such a great alternative to a guest book, but poor Elyse said she will never fold another paper airplane again…haha!

The reception was beautiful and the green linen just spoke to us, that was a great color choice. And for their table numbers they assigned each table a plane with a model of that plane to go with it.

Can we just talk about this sunset??

We’re so happy celebrating Elyse and Mitch got to be our final wedding, until how knows when, and we couldn’t be more honored to be their coordinators. Elyse, don’t forget our deep sea fishing trip after this is all over!
